July 20, 2009 : Happy Holidays!....

All greetings! Has passed long enough time since I gave you some news. And there is an explanation: the end of the Eurobasket, the result has upset me. Certainly, the second place on Eurobasket is quite good, but the bitterness of the defeat against France has not passed at me till now.

Many experts and fans have already discussed the reasons and have found enough explanations to the last lost. Therefore I do not wish to come back to this theme. With the final, we have done the minimum requirement planned by our Federation and partners, therefore I wish to congratulate all on silver medals of the European championship once again!

I consider that the positive thing consists in the beginning of a new Olympic cycle. To us, it's to that we aspire and to work over, therefore I hope that results of the Russian national team will improve in the future. I will always give my best for that.

So, after the Eurobasket, it was time for long-awaited holiday which I have decided to spend actively, interestingly and fruitfully. All the same for a game season, I have got used not to sit in place long time, therefore I usually spend holiday on travel, trying to replace conditions and to see something brand new.

To begin with I flied to London. For a long time, I promised to show the British capital to my mum and to look a Grand Slam tournament on tennis. This time all has very successfully coincided, there was a possibility to combine with a visit of London. And I have there and then taken advantage of this chance! London has amazed me with the variety, changeable weather, politeness and respect of British, a large quantity of russian buses and bright telephone booths, link sided movement... and also bad meals. I as managed to look some interesting tennis matches and actively to be ill for my girlfriend Svetlana Kuznetsova who has recently won Rolan Garros in Paris.

Unfortunately, despite beautiful game, light is not has reached the ending, but in sports very often happens so: it is difficult to remain on peak of the form after the big victories.

From London I went to France – to participate in a TV show «Big races». There I have got acquainted with many interesting people from the world of sports and business show. I very much liked friendly atmosphere and the command spirit which is present at our big team of Russia.

All participants supported, were ill and worried about the friend of the friend. Commands and players varied every day. I managed to participate in two games. I have laughed and has rolled about with all the heart, directly as in the childhood!!! :) :)

In other days of "the Big races" I supported other participants and made comments on performances of our command. As a result of joint efforts the Russian national team in persistent struggle has won «the Big races»! My unique first place in this season though and on a... basketball platform, and it is all the same very pleasant! :) :) I have understood that an extreme feeling of risk, I enjoyed it... and it would be desirable to have this feeling again.

In my memory it remains a lot of bright and great souvenirs from this summer holiday which I have tried to embody on the camera... and I will try to show you that soon in the future! (other pictures >>>)
